Marko Kusmuk (born in 1985 in Sarajevo) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Department of Painting, under the mentorship of Professor Nusret Pašić in 2007. He completed his Master's degree in Painting in Rome at the Accademia di Belle Arti under Professor Desiderio Sanzi in 2008. In 2011, he enrolled in interdisciplinary Master's studies at the University of Arts, Department of Art and Media Theory, under Professor Miško Šuvaković. He completed his doctoral studies in 2016 with a dissertation titled "Artistic Deconstruction in the Dualism of Face and Reverse" under Professor Miloš Šobajić. Kusmuk has received several prestigious awards, including the First Prize for Drawing from the Vladimir Veličković Foundation and the Grand Prize from the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia on the occasion of ULUS's 100th anniversary, the First Prize for Drawing (Golden Lion) in Venice at the Venis Land exhibition organized by Anonima Sognatori, and the Osten Biennial Gold Award. He has held over 20 solo exhibitions and participated in around 60 group exhibitions both in Serbia and abroad.
