Fragility of Society

Aleksandra Kokotović

May 24 – June 20, 2022

At the center of the world, however, stands love. Indeed, man is a liar, a rogue, and a hypocrite, but he knows how to love. This is what makes him the greatest mystery, a cosmic enigma, a million-dollar question. In the name of that love, he is willing to do anything, even draw a sword, and when swords are drawn, Truth is the first to fall. This has been the case from the Trojan War to the present day. Aleksandra Kokotović is a woman. A woman's soul can bend, but it will never break. A woman's heart can be pierced, but it will never stop beating. Aleksandra is a painter. In her paintings, she laments over the world situated under His crucifixion. She seeks an answer to the question of what makes man what he is. And that is the million-dollar question. That is why Aleksandra has called for help from a friend. She has called the Most Invited, He to Whose perfection we are often envious. He will, one day, give her the answer, just as He will answer each of us. But it is not our job to wait for the answer; it is to ask further questions, as Aleksandra does in her paintings. For man is a hypocrite but curious, just enough to keep him from boredom. In painting, Aleksandra does not hide her excitement. She does it in ecstasy. Explosively. Because, let us return to the beginning of our story, whatever is on them, at the center of her paintings, still stands love.
